Formation Leader Ross Parker will fly the powerful US Navy T28 Trojan

This majestic and powerful aircraft was manufactured in Ohio in 1954 and flew as a trainer in the US Navy until 1983. It came to Queensland in 2008 and is based at Caboolture with the Wirraway.

With 25,000 hours flying time, Ross was trained in the RAAF and flew Caribou tactical transport aircraft then as a Captain in the RAAF VIP squadrons flying dignitaries, politicians and even royalty including the current King and the future King!
He then spent three decades of international airline flying in B747 and B777 aircraft in Hong Kong including many years flying the famous IGS Approach into the old Kai Tak International Airport.

He is the proud owner of the Wirraway and Trojan aircraft and enjoys sharing these magnificent aircraft with aviation enthusiasts and thrill-seeking passengers alike.

 

Matt Denning will fly the iconic WWII RAAF Wirraway

The Wirraway was manufactured at the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation in 1945 and served as a trainer aircraft with the RAAF until 1957. It was fully restored in 1997 and flies at Caboolture alongside the Trojan.

Matt is a rare species of pilot who is also a qualified aircraft engineer who restores warbirds as well as flying them. He has decades of experience flying warbirds around the country and is a principal pilot with the RAAF 100 Squadron flying with the Temora Aviation Museum display team.

 

Tony Chamberlin will fly the RNZAF AT-6 Harvard from New Zealand

This training aircraft was originally built in 1943 in the US but spent its flying life with the Royal New Zealand Air Force until 2003 when it came to Australia. It is now resident at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast.  Another highly qualified engineer/pilot, Tony also has decades of experience flying and maintaining warbirds. He has flown over 100 types of aircraft and is a qualified formation and aerobatic pilot.

See the aircraft on the tarmac at the Miles Airport on Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
