About

COME CELEBRATE WITH US!

Get back to the bush at a festival that celebrates all that we love about living in the bush, delivered with a fun vintage twist and all at the most incredible venue - in and behind the Miles Historical Village!

The little country town of Miles with its population of 1,700 welcomes an influx of festival visitors for the 4-day festival, extending a BIG country welcome.

Bush fun...

Watch competitors battle it out for the title of Toughest Buggers in the Bush.  Hear the roar of the modified tractors as they compete in the motorsport of the bush!  There's dog high jumping, working dog demonstrations, whip cracking and a whole lot more fun... bush-style!

With a vintage twist...

The vintage fun of the festival comes to the sounds of bush balladeers, the toot of the steam train rolling into Miles and the buzz of the vintage warplanes flying past overhead.

In the main festival  venue - in and around the Miles Historical Village, the vintage fun continues as the quart pot billy boiling challenges and the Condamine Bell Toss gets underway.

The festival coincides with the anniversary of the Historical Village, having opened in 1971 and as the premier tourist attraction of Miles, is a fitting backdrop to the festival’s program of ‘bush experiences with a vintage twist’.

Since the 1950s, the Western Downs community of Miles and the smaller towns that surround it come together biannually in September to celebrate everything we love about living in the bush. The festival spans four days with an eclectic mix of authentic and interactive bush experiences.

Whether you are an adventurer, nature lover, collector, history buff, foodie or music lover; your whole family are guaranteed a unique bush experience.

Festival History

Since the 1950s, the Western Downs community of Miles and the smaller towns that surround it come together biannually in September to celebrate everything we love about living in the bush.

In 2018 the festival was re-named and underwent significant changes, having previously been known as the Beef Bells and Bottle Tree Festival. The festival's roots stem further back to the 1950’s with the original Miles Wildflower Festival.
