Dog High Jump Competition
Sat September 9, 1:00 pm
This event was a whole lot of fun to watch at our last festival, as we all loved gathering around to cheer on the dogs and their owners.
There is no need to purchase a separate ticket to see the Dog High Jumping – it’s inside the MAIN EVENT Saturday, so just grab a main event entry ticket.
We are putting out the call again for all farm dogs, suburban canines and city pooches to put their jumping abilities to the test at our Dog High Jumping Competition to be held at Miles Back to the Bush Festival as part of the program at the main venue on Saturday 9 September 2023.
This is no elite dog show jumping, it’s bush-style test to see just how incredible dogs’ abilities are, scaling and up and over a wall obstacle. Kelpies and greyhounds often prove to be the most successful jumpers in such competitions, but organisers say that any dog that likes to jump on to the back of a ute, or tries to scale the backyard fence could be a contender for the event. The rules allow dog owners up close to encourage the dogs up the wall.
Owners are welcome to encourage their dog up the wall, standing in front of the wall, running along with the dog in the lead up to the jump, or above the wall on the back of the truck.
Dogs do not typically clear the jump, they use their paws to scramble up the wall to achieve the highest jump result.
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times within the festival when not competing.
Nominate your dog for a chance at the cash and dog food prizes.
