2. Kids Zone + Teen Zone
NEW to Miles Back to the Bush Festival in 2021 are Kids Zone and Teen Zone! These zones inside the main Festival Grounds on Saturday will entertain the kids from 11am-4pm.
Kids Zone includes a colouring-in table, beard craft making, a giant sandpit ‘coal dig’ with coal treasure to unearth, a petting zoo and face painting.
Teen Zone includes a Footy Target Throw with prizes and large oversized games. Prizes include: John Deere gear and toys, Ariat jeans vouchers, Farm toys and Lego. Thanks to our supporting sponsors!
3. Aerial Lolly Drop
Get ready, get set for the aerial lolly drop! All the kids will be running about for their share of what falls from the sky!
4. Lil Bugger & Teen Bugger Challenges
Kids and teens are going to love this outdoor ‘farmer-style’ obstacle course that will be a lot of fun in the mud! They’ll under-take a variety of physical and messy challenges to complete the course and claim the finisher title of Toughest Teen or Lil Bugger in the Bush!
Teen Bugger is for ages 13-17, while the Lil Bugger is for kids aged 3-12. $10 per entrant. Make sure to bring a change of clothes and a towel to clean off at the end! …FIND OUT MORE & REGISTER NOW
5. Lots of Country Animals
The whole family is going to love watching the Dog High Jumping! This is a real crowd favourite, as we all come together to cheer on the dogs as they excitedly jump over the dog jumping wall… that get’s higher each stage as the challenge goes on!
It’s fascinating watching sheep shearers at work and kids can see sheep shearing live at the festival too. There’s a petting zoo in Kids Zone too.
6. Noisy Fun Tractor Pull!
What kid doesn’t love some noise and there’ll be plenty of that at the tractor pulling area, where all afternoon the tractors will be showing their power and making some noise! The night show will even see some tractors shooting flames… yes tractors and flames!!
7. Horse Show Full of Action!
Highlight of Saturday evening is the Rooftop Express: Heroes of the Outback Show. This is the same show that has been seen and loved by families over many years at the Ekka! See it in action at the festival, with horses, cattle and motorbikes skilfully handled in a truly engaging spectacle.
8. Aircraft Buzzing Overhead
Three vintage aircraft will be buzzing overhead during the festival on Saturday, both over the street parade and over the main event in the Miles Historical Village Museum. Plus… see them up close on the tarmac at the Miles Airport on Sunday.
9. Watch the Street Parade
Bring the family to the main street of Miles to watch the street parade go by Saturday morning. The Miles community will put on show spectacle of what makes this community special, displaying our love of all things vintage and living in the bush.
10. Fun & Exploring in ‘The Village’
The festival venue is such an excitement to explore, with dozens of buildings to duck in and out of in the Miles Historical Village Museum. The old hospital, bank, butcher, cafe, church and more, are set up as they would have appeared in the ‘old days’ and even when the festival is not on, this spot holds hours of fun for families to explore together.
During festival Saturday see the streets of the village come alive with fun games to celebrate the ‘Village’s’ 50th Anniversary, with competitions run including the Condamine Bell Throw and the Quart Pot Boiling Challenge.
