Self-guided Tours: Wildflowers Drive & History Walk
Wildflower Self Drive
Miles is known for its wildflowers, particularly following the first Spring rains in September. Take a self-guided drive to see them while you’re here.
We recommend a high-clearance vehicle, SUV, all-wheel and four-wheel vehicles, as you will be travelling on unsealed and dirt roads through State Forestry.

Miles Sound Trail: (Walking Tour with Sound Recorded Guide)
Woven together through professional sound design and capturing some unique moments from the town’s die-hard locals, this Soundtrail is an intimate portrait of Miles. Included is the story of Merlene Coates Freeman, who survived a drowning incident on the Dogwood Creek that took the life of her mother and three others.
Download the app and listen along as you walk around the town – it takes 1 hour, 30 minutes.
The Miles Soundtrail takes a loop around Chinaman’s lagoon and finishes back on the highway. It is best done out of the midday sun.
